Privacypolicy.

Last updated October 21, 2026

This policy explains how GEEKDEV TECHNOLOGIES, SRL (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Gymfolio iPhone app and this website. Gymfolio turns a workout you write as a note into steps, rests and a timer, and keeps your history.

The short version

1. What stays on your phone

Your notes, workouts, history, records, and settings are stored on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud, Apple includes the app's data in that backup under Apple's own terms; we cannot read it.

While a workout runs, the timer can show on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. That is drawn by your phone from data on your phone; nothing is sent to us for it.

2. When the app asks for help reading a line

The app reads your note on the phone first. When a part of a line is still unclear — a typo, an unusual exercise name, a number that could mean two things — it sends a short request to our reading service, which runs on our hosting provider’s servers. The request contains:

Our service passes the line and the questions to an AI service that reads text, and returns its answer to your phone. The AI service receives the text only — not your device's identifier, not your IP address, not your name.

We keep a log of each request — the line, the answer, the time, and the identifier from section 3 — for 90 days, to find mistakes and to keep costs and abuse under control, and then it is deleted automatically. So the same line is not paid for twice, we also keep the answer to each question for 30 days, filed under a scrambled fingerprint of the question rather than its text.

Please don't write things you would not want read by a service into a workout note. Notes about health, such as an injury, are your choice to include.

3. How we know a request comes from the app

The app uses Apple's App Attest. Your phone creates a private key that never leaves it, and Apple vouches that requests signed with it come from a genuine copy of Gymfolio. Our server keeps the key's public half, a random identifier made from it, a counter, and the times the phone first and last asked. This record contains no name, no email, and no note text, and nothing in it tells us who you are. A new identifier is created if you reinstall the app. To protect the service, our server limits how many requests a phone or a network address can make in a minute and in a day; the network address is used for that count only and is not stored.

4. Purchases

Gymfolio is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or billing details. We use RevenueCat to know whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives the purchase information Apple provides, such as the product, the price, the dates and an anonymous identifier for your purchases, and never your notes.

5. Apple Health

If you allow it, the app saves each finished workout to Apple Health: its type, start time and duration. You decide in the Health permission screen, and you can change it at any time in the Health app or in iPhone Settings. Information from Apple Health is never used for advertising and is never sent to us.

6. Helping the app read better

The app has a setting that lets it send us the notes it reads, together with how it read each part and the choices you make when it asks about a line it was unsure of, plus the phone's language and the app's version. It is a switch in the app's Settings and you can turn it off at any time. When it is on, this is sent to our analytics provider, on its servers in the European Union, filed under a random identifier for your install, not your name. We use it only to make the reading better. It is kept for up to 7 years, or until you ask us to delete it.

7. Measuring our ads

When Gymfolio is installed after an ad, Apple's SKAdNetwork may tell the ad network, and a copy to AppsFlyer, that an ad led to an install. Apple designs this report so that it cannot be linked to you or your device; it carries no identifier.

8. This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Its fonts and pictures are served from our own host. Its animation library is loaded from a public content delivery network, which, like any web server, sees your IP address and browser when it sends the file. Our hosting provider keeps short technical logs of visits (address, page, time) to run and protect the site.

The contact form and our email address give us what you send: your email address and your message. The form is processed by a form service, which delivers it to us by email. We use it only to answer you.

9. Who we share with

We share information only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf, and when the law requires it. We do not sell or rent it. If you would like to know which company provides each service, write to info@geekdevtech.com and we will tell you.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict some processing. Most of your data is on your phone and under your control. For anything we hold, write to info@geekdevtech.com. Because the app has no account, we may ask you for details that help us find your data, such as the time of a request; we cannot connect the App Attest record to you from your email address alone. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

12. Children

Gymfolio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Security

Everything the app sends travels encrypted (HTTPS). Our service accepts requests only from genuine copies of the app (section 3), and only our server holds the key to the AI service. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to the minimum the app needs.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and its date. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app before it applies.
